What to Submit

The BUBBLAH and our Sponsors  create contests in writing, photography, art,

cooking, science, and performing arts.

Check this page or each issue to see what our current contests are.

Check below for submission guidelines for something

that is not contest related.

PLEASE NOTE: A RELEASE FORM MUST BE SIGNED AND SUMBITTED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN BEFORE BEING PUBLISHED IN OUR E-ZINE. One will be emailed

to that person if your work is chosen to be published.

Writing Contest

Using the untitled illustration, create a short story, limerick or poem and submit it by February 15, 2021. The winner's work will be published in the March Issue of The BUBBLAH,  and will receive a prize in the mail.

Photography Contest

The theme for our photography contest, due by February 15, 2021 is WINTER WONDERLAND.

Anything goes for subject matter. People, places, and things that depict the beauty of winter. Check out the link below on the Rule of Thirds to take a wonderfully,

composed picture.

And don't rule out using some cool, free apps to modify your images. The photo seen here was taken on an iPhone and one of our favorite free apps, SNAPSEED, was used to add effects.

Non-Contest Submissions

The following is a list of items we would love to publish in The BUBBLAH, but if you have a cool idea that's not listed, please contact us and let us know.

Journalism-Report on an event or person in your community that inspires you. Be sure to include who, what, where, when, and how. Limit words to 500 please. This is a great opportunity to include photos to get your reader interested.

Creative Writing-Song lyrics, poetry, jokes, stories, anecdotes are just some of the things we want to publish.

Culinary Arts-If you love to cook, share a recipe with us and some photos of your process and results.

Visual Art- Drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, pottery, crafts; you name it, we want to see it.

Performing Art-The BUBBLAH is live, so we can include links to videos of you performing as long as it is already on the internet. We like to include a photo and a little information about you as well. Groups are also welcome to submit.

Science-Scientists are some of the most creative people that exist. Just ask Einstein. Send us your projects and include photos and descriptions.

To submit your work, click here and attach a Word document, jpegs or pdfs of any images. Good luck!
